Email has established itself as the preferred gateway for cybercriminals. According to the IBM X-Force® Threat Intelligence Index, phishing is the leading malware infection vector, identified in 41% of all incidents.
The 2024 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report confirms that traditional tactics like email-based attacks remain prevalent, with more than 40% of incidents involving pretexting and 31% involving phishing. These statistics clearly demonstrate email's position as the most exploited entry point for cyberattacks.
