Better Never Means Better for Everyone...
In Margaret Atwood's novel, The Handsmaid Tale, Commander Fred Waterford complains about how things were “before” Gilead, and suggests that what they’ve built is an improvement.
Offred, the female protagonist responds, “Better? I say, in a small voice. How can he think this is better?” She's lost her child, her husband, her name, and her autonomy. Everything that made her life meaningful has been stripped away.
The Commander's response —“You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs; we thought we could do better. Better never means better for everyone. It always means worse, for some." — is chilling.
Often in the world today, it means financially worse for women. A world where:
-
Women earn 81-94 cents on the dollar compared to men according to the Brookings Institute.
-
Women are more likely to run out of retirement savings.
-
Women often shoulder the responsibility of leaving the workforce to care for children and aging parents.
-
Workplace culture pushes women out of lucrative careers and senior roles.
How do you fight a world that's often tilted against you, and sometimes feels rigged? Add to that, the challenge of building a career, a romantic relationship , raising kids, and caring for your physical, and emotional wellbeing. No wonder building an authentic, satisfying, and financially secure life feels so difficult.
A critical difference between those who succeed and those who struggle is wise counsel and guidance from a mentor. It’s not about being the smartest, the hardest‑working, or the luckiest. When you choose your mentor, you choose your financial future.
What would it mean for you to have someone truly invested in your success? A good listener, motivated to help you create—and sustain—positive financial momentum toward your goals and a more authentic life?
We believe it’s possible to build a more abundant, and financially secure life with the right help and support.
We believe it so strongly we created a supportive financial community called Arkable Wealth 4 Women to serve 25 committed and motivated women.
We believe women deserve a space where their goals, fears, and dreams about money are heard without judgment and met with practical, human-centered guidance. We believe that real financial change happens when you feel safe, seen, and supported—not shamed or lectured. Arkable Wealth 4 Women exists for support and guidance, as you rewrite your money story, build sustainable habits, and make decisions that align with what matters most to you.
We’re not for everyone. Meaningful, lasting change takes effort, persistence, and sometimes a willingness to face some hard truths. But if “improvise, adapt, and overcome” is already your way of moving through life, you may have exactly what it takes to join our small community.
